Triplett Cemetery, Triplett Ridge Road, Clay Co., WV

For several years I had asked my Mother about where her Father might be buried. She wasn't sure that she would be able to find the cemetery and didn't know if the grave would be marked with a headstone. She remembered that the cemetery was on top of a hill and that it had been raining the day he was buried. The only other clue was that the cemetery should be on the road that Uncle Franklin Hamrick lived on. With these 47 year old memories to go on, we found the cemetery, and we found Joseph Morgan Butler, Sr. Triplett Cemetery is on top of a hill with spectacular views in all directions. It is well maintained, complete with a fence to keep the critters out. There are several graves that are marked only with field stone.

Arminta was Ervin's wife, Joseph's Mother. She died in Newport News, VA. Her death records shows that she was sent to Clay. I list her here because it just makes sense.
